His work has probably been on your coffee table, inside your television or in your daily newspaper.
For instance, on the cover of a Life Magazine Mick Jagger and Tina Turner stood in front of his backdrop promoting their Live Aid appearance. Perhaps you remember the Time Magazine cover with Nancy Kerrigan smiling in front of a dreamy snowscape...another of Roger's creations. Rogers became a backdrop painter while working his way through college at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Upon graduation, he launched the highly successful WilliamRogers Backdrops, Inc. which provided food and shelter for his family for the next years as he painted hundreds of realistic and mood-creating backdrops. Into the Digital Age: As photographers have moved away from backdrops in favor of digital images, Rogers has found a new outlet for his creative energies: custom installations of murals, Trompe L'oleil (Trick-the-eye) and other custom paintings on a commission basis. His work now can be found in the famous "Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace" in Las Vegas as well as the home of the model Cindy Margolis, whose media room features a domed evening sky painted by Rogers and whose nursery can be seen to the right. Artist for Hire: Bill is available throughout the world for custom installations of his work. If you are an interior decorator, architect or a homeowner that is looking for a special signature work of art to improve a space for your client or in your home, please browse the works on this site and click on the "Commissioning Work" link for more information. |
